Gus’s Story

Gus as a baby

Gus found himself all alone in a shelter in Arkansas in the spring of 2010. Luckily, Allison, Director of Woof Connections, had planned a rescue trip to Wisconsin to take some other homeless doggies to a rescue in Neenah, and one of her rescue connections told her that a family member had been looking for a yellow Lab puppy. She saw Gus, who was named Buck at that time, and she quickly took a photo and emailed it to her friend. Her friend saw it, forwarded it to the interested family, and it was love at first sight! Gus was added to the transport, which was taking place the next day.

Gus the morning he arrived in Wisconsin

Gus traveled with Allison and Kevin through the night to Wisconsin, along with other lucky doggie companions, and arrived in Neenah early in the morning. His foster mama greeted him with love and snuggles, and he quickly acclimated to life in the north!

Gus the day of his adoption

Gus was adopted by the foster mom’s husband’s aunt and uncle, who had been waiting for a dog like Gus to be part of their family. The first time they met him, they quickly fell in love with this precious little puppy.
